The Butterfly Joint Book Club: Woodworking & Reading Support

400.00

Grades K and 1
Mondays, 2:15-4:15pm

(9/17, 9/24, 10/1, 10/15, 10/22, 10/29, 11/5, 11/26 (1-3pm), 12/3, 12/10 & 12/17)

What more can you ask for!?! In this class, kindergartners and first graders will build our famous “book sofa” to hold some of their favorite books. The woodworkers will also make customized, laser-etched wood bookmarks. In addition to creating these projects and learning the basics of woodworking, the students will receive support in their reading skills through group literacy games and one-on-one assistance.

This class is open to students from all schools, not just Lafayette! (My daughter goes to Lafayette, hence the timing).

Please note, 11/26 is 12:50 dismissal at Lafayette due to conferences so class will be from 1:15-3:15pm.

*Pick-up from Lafayette campus available. Return drop-off available for $2 per trip.
